The Virtual Assistant

The Virtual Assistant is a chat assistant built into the Employee Center. It can answer questions, walk you through a guided topic, and — when you ask for something concrete — create the request for you.

Click the round sparkle button pinned to the bottom corner of any Employee Center page. (If your organization has uploaded its own symbol, you’ll see that instead of the sparkle.) The panel opens with a greeting and a row of suggested topic chips you can tap instead of typing.

  • General questions — “How do I reset my password?” gets you a direct answer.
  • Guided topics — tapping a suggested chip starts a short, scripted flow with its own follow-up chips, so you can navigate by tapping instead of typing.
  • Requests, in plain language — describe what you need and the assistant offers to create it for you:
    • “I need a new laptop” → an IT request.
    • “Request time off” → an HR case.
    • A general “I’d like to request…” → a catalog request.
  1. Describe what you need in your own words.
  2. The assistant replies with a short confirmation, asking you to confirm before it creates anything.
  3. Reply “yes” (or tap Continue) to confirm, or “no” to cancel.
  4. On confirmation, the assistant creates the record and replies with its reference number and a link to open it directly.

Nothing is created without your confirmation first.

The assistant is scoped to workplace topics — the kinds of things you’d otherwise do in the Employee Center. If you ask something outside that scope, it declines and offers a few in-scope examples to try instead (“How do I reset my password?”, “Request time off”, “I need a new laptop”), so the conversation doesn’t dead-end.

If the assistant doesn’t recognize what you’re asking, it says so plainly and offers a short list of suggested topics — plus the option to talk to a live agent — instead of guessing.
